As a music director and pit orchestra conductor, I’ve had the pleasure of working with countless musicians, but few bring what Jacob Colby does to the pit. He’s a truly talented violinist: technically sharp, musically sensitive, and always attuned to what the production needs.

He’s also a natural leader within the section, setting the tone with his consistency and helping the other players stay locked in and confident. What sets him apart, though, is how dependable he is; I never have to think twice about whether he’ll be prepared and on point. He’s also just a joy to work with; funny, warm, and genuinely collaborative, the kind of player who makes long rehearsals feel easy. Any production would be lucky to have him.
